Selection of Surface Processing Methods for CNC Hardware Parts and Factors to Consider
The surface machining method for CNC machined parts depends primarily on the technical requirements of the machined surface. However, it should be noted that these technical requirements may not necessarily be the same as those specified in the part drawings. Sometimes, due to process reasons, they may be higher than the requirements in the part drawings. For example, the machining requirements for certain CNC machined surfaces may be raised due to datum misalignment, or higher machining requirements may be imposed when they serve as precision datums.
